Elokuu on vielä harvinaisen lämmin. Merkillistä on myös hyttysten poissaolo. Kiipesin Keimiötunturille. Kuumana päivänä se olikin aikamoinen ponnistus. Näkymät olivat kyllä komeat.
Tein myös pitemmän retken, jossa yövyin Pallaksen lähellä. Aamuyöstä kävelin Sammalvaaran kautta mökille. Hiirihaukan tapasin kahdessakin paikassa. Kovasti ne olivat kulkemisestani kiinnostuneita.

Kansallispuistossa ratsasti vastaani kovaääninen ranskalaisporukka. Heitä huvitti kovasti "bonjour" ja "ca va bien" tervehdykseni. Vahinko, ettei ranskani yltänyt sen pitempään keskusteluun.

August is yet rare warm. Remarkable is also the absence of the mosquitos . I climbed to Keimiötunturi. On the hot day it was indeed sizeable effort. The views were of course handsome.
I did also longer trip, in which I spend one nigh in tent near Pallas. From the small hours I walked by way of Sammalvaara to the cottage. I met also buzzard in two places. They were much interested in my walking.

In the national park I met loud French crowd riding. They entertained much of my "bonjour " and "ca va bien "greeting. Damage, that my French didn't exceed to a that longer conversation.
