Teimme matkan tällä kertaa autolla. Menomatkalla yövyimme Limingassa eläinpuisto Escurialissa. 40 euron hintaa palvelu olikin siellä täydellistä. Joviaali isäntäperhe, intialaiseen tyyliin sisustettu tilava mökki, rantasauna ja yli 260 eläintä eri puolilta maailmaa. Suurin osa niistä oli lintuja. Kukkojen konsertti auringon nousuin aikaan kuului hintaan ja sai meidät ajoissa liikkeelle.
Linturikkaalla Limingan lahdella oli paljon lintuja. Kahlaajia, haukkoja ja merikotka.

Perillä Jeriksellä oli ruska-aika jo hyvässä alussa. Maanantaina seurasin Sammalvaaralla pitkään kolmen kiirunan marjojen syömistä. Yllättäen paikalle kaarteli myös merikotka. Se olikin ensimmäinen Jeriksen maisemissa tekemäni kotkahavainto.
Pallaksen lähellä valokuvasin äänekästä lintupariskuntaa, jonka tunnistaminen tuotti vaikeuksia. Päädyn lopuksi siihen, että kyseessä on kirjosiipikäpylintu eikä taviokuurna. Niiden laulu oli erittäin äänekästä ja se juuri huomioni herättikin.

Puolukat olivat kypsiä ja saimme niitä hetkessä kerätyksi yli 20 litraa. Siitä riittääkin koko talveksi.
Sää oli koko viikon syksyisen miellyttävä. Pieni sade ei haitannut ollenkaan. Lämpötila vaihteli 1 - 10 asteen välillä.

This time we did the journey by car. On outward journey we stopped for overnight in Liminka at zoo Escurial. For 40 euro the service was there perfect. The very jovial host family, spacious cottage furnished to Indian style, lakeside sauna and over 260 animals from different parts of world. Most of those were birds. Concert of the cocks at sunrise belonged to the price and got us moving on-time.
On bird rich bay of Liminka there were plenty of different birds. Waders, hawks and white tailed eagle.

At the destination in Jeris was glowing autumn forest time already in the good beginning. I followed on Monday on near Sammalvaara mountain for long time when three rock ptarmigans (Lagopus mutus) had they berries eating time. Suddenly to the scene curved also white tailed eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla). It was my first eagle observation in Jeris.
Near the Pallas I photographed loud bird couple, which identification produced difficulties. Finally I thought, that they were white-winged crossbills ( Loxia leucoptera) and not pine grosbeaks (Pinicola enucleator). Their song was extremely loud and it just awakened my attention.

The lingonberries were ripe and we got those in the moment collected over 20 litre. That is enough for all the winter.
The weather was all week pleasant. Small rain didn't harm at all. The temperature changed between one and ten degrees Celsius.
