Sää oli koko viikon varsin keväinen. Aurinkoiset päivät ja plusasteinen sää sulattivat lunta uhkaavasti mutta yöpakkaset pitivät hiihtokelejä yllä. Piti vain lähteä ladulle aamuvarhaisella. Silloin keli oli hiihtämiseen vallan erinomainen. Erivärisiä liistereitä kyllä kului. Ilkka Malmbergin hehtaaripakinan (23.4.06) sanoin:" Lämmintä oli, mutta liistereillä pito oli erinomainen, samoin luisto. Hiihto oli sulaa nautintoa."

Heti sunnuntaina meitä ilahdutti komea ukkometso. Se lähti ladun varresta lentoon, mutta istahti heti läheiseen kuuseen. Meidän kuvaustouhu puun juurella ei häirinnyt sen rauhaa vähääkään.

Kutunivalla oli kovin hiljaista. Koskikaroista oli jäljelle jäänyt yksi ainoa. Seurakseen se oli saanut yhtä yksinäisen laulujoutsenen. Melko surullisen näköinen ja varsin epäsuhteinen pari. Pienempiä lintuja kyllä lenteli nivan tiedoilla jonkin verran. Mielestäni siellä oli muutama viherpeippo, vaikkakin ne tuntuivat hiukan oudoilta näin pohjoisessa. Punatulkut sen sijaan oli helppo tunnistaa, Ne söivät halukkaasti haavan versoja.

Riekkoja saimme kuvattua varmalla menetelmällä. Ajoimme aamuvarhaiselle hiljaa Pallaksen tietä. Riekkoja oli kolmessa kohdassa hiekan jyviä nokkimassa. Melko helppo niitä oli kuvata suoraan auton ikkunasta. Muita kanalintuja ei tiellä nyt näkynyt.

Kotimatkalla Oulun jälkeisillä lakeuksilla oli ihan tien varressa liikkeellä paljon kuoveja, töyhtöhyyppiä ja laulujoutsenia.

Weather was all week quite spring like. Sunny days and plus degree weather melted snow menacingly but night frost held upper skiing conditions. You had only leaved to the tracks early in the mornings. Then conditions were for the skiing excellent. Different colored ski paste I spent quote a lot.

Immediately on Sunday we were gladdened a handsome male capercailzie. It left from the arm of the track to the flight, but sat immediately to the nearby spruce. Our description fuss tree just did not disturb its peace less.

On Kutuniva it was very quiet. From the dippers had left behind only one. To its company it had got a lonely whooper swan. Rather sad looking and quite disparity couple. In addition I saw there some smaller birds. In my opinion there were few greenfinches, although they felt a bit from the odd this in the northern. Bullfinches instead were easy to recognize. They ate burgeons cut willingly.

Willow grouses we got pictured on the very sure method, when driving early in the morning the quiet Pallas road. Willow grouses were pecking grain of the sand in three places. Rather easy it was to take pictures from them direct from the window of the car. Other fowls we didn't see by the road.

On the way back home we saw after Oulu many curlews, lapwings and whoppers.
