Kerrassaan superhieno maaliskuun viikko Jeriksellä. Aurinkoa riitti tiistaista eteenpäin ja maisemathan täällä ovat aina komeat. Tosin alku oli hiihdon kannalta hankala, kun sunnuntaina satoi märkää nuoskalunta. Voitelu epäonnistui niin maan perusteellisesti, ettei hiihdosta tullut yhtään mitään. Suksien pohjassa kun oli paksu jääkerros, eikä siihen auttanut mikään mukana olleista voiteista.

Apu löytyi sitten maanantaina Muonion Sportia-Kollströmiltä. Lievän pakkasen Rhoden purkkivoiteeseen ei uusi lumi tarttunut ja mikä merkillisintä sukset myös pitivät nollakelissä ja loppuviikosta myös jäisellä ladulla! Ei ihme, että voiteelle oli annettu nimeksi Super. Nellalle laitoin pitoteipit, joihin myös hän oli koko viikon kovin tyytyväinen.

Tiistain hiihtolenkillä Mäntyrovalle pysähdyimme katselemaan käpylintuparvea. Samalla paikalle liiteli kaksi maakotkaa. Olipa sykähdyttävä näky. Hetken sain niitä kiikareilla ihailla kunnes ne poistuivat. Harmitti, kun parempaa kameraa ei ollut mukana. Kohtaus oli kuitenkin niin lyhyt ja äkillinen, että tuskin olisin kuvia ehtinyt ottaakaan.

Keskiviikkona kävimme pitkästä aikaa taas Montellin majalla ja Nammalakurussa. Väkeä oli paljon liikkeellä ja maisemathan ylhäällä Pallaksella ovat huikaisevan kauniita. Sää oli kuin prinsessahäistä. Todellinen huippuhetki tämä päivä.

Toisena päivänä hiihdimme ympyrälenkin Pallakselle ja takasin. Matkaa tuli yli 30 km, mutta puolimatkassa saimme lounastaa Pallas-hotellin ravintolassa. Samalla tutustuimme ravintolan Lappi-aiheiseen taidenäyttelyyn. .

Sunnuntaina olivat eduskuntavaalit. Veikkaanpa, että uusi hallitus johtaa meidät hyväksymään tulevaisuudessa nykyistä paljon suuremmat tuloerot. Muuten työn pakenemista halpamaihin tuskin saadaan padottua. Lisääntyvä eriarvoisuus varmaan tulee ruokkimaan puna-mustia populistiliikkeitä mutta vastakkainasettelun jyrkentyminen lisää uskoakseni samalla ainakin äänestysaktiivisuutta.

Vierailimme tulomatkalla taas kerran Kemin lumilinnassa. Se oli tällä kertaa taitavasti toteutettu. Siellä oli paljon jääveistoksia, joita monena vuotena siellä ei ole ollut. Jääveistokset sopivat kuuri lumilinnaan. Kemissä kannattaa varmaan käväistä muutenkin kuin vain lumilinnaa katsomassa, mutta muista syistä minulla ei ole parempaa tietoa.

Entirely super fine March week in Jeris. There were lot of sun from Tuesday on and landscapes are here always great. However the beginning was from the point of view of the skiing awkward when on Sunday rained wet thaw snow. My ski waxing failed so thoroughly that it didn't come anything from the skiing. The bases of the skis were covered with thick ice and there didn't help any wax I had with.

The help was found then on Monday at Sportia-Kollström in Muonio. The slight frost Rhode wax helped and which remarkable it also gave a good grip for naught conditions and in end of the week also on the icy track! Not surprising, that the wax was called "Super". To Nellas skis I put grip tapes to which also she was all week very contented.

In skiing on Tuesday to Mäntyrova we stopped to watch flock of crossbills. At the same time to scene floated two golden eagles. It was thrilling sight. I got admire them a moment in the binoculars until they left. Regretted when better camera has not been with. However attack was so short and sudden that hardly I would have had time pictures to take.

For long time we went on Wednesday again on Montelli cabin and Nammalakuru. The people were much on the move and landscape high up on Pallas fell are dazzling beautiful. The weather was like from princess wedding, highlight of the week.

On another day we skied to Pallas hotel the circle track. The journey was over 30 km, but half way we got to have lunch in restaurant. At the same time we got acquainted with Lapland-related art exhibition of the restaurant. .

On Sunday there was in Finland parliamentary elections. I believe that new government leads us to accept in the future much bigger income differences. Otherwise the escaping of the work to low cost countries hardly can have dammed. Increasing inequality surely comes to feed red-black populism but the growing inequality increases I believe the same at the voting activeness.

On income journey we visited once again in the snow castle of Kemi. It was this time skillfully put into effect. There were many ice-carvings which for many years there has not been. The ice-carvings fit well to snow castle. You can pay surely a short visit to Kemi for other reasons as only snow castle watching but other reasons I do not have any information.
