Taas mitä hienoin viikko Jeriksellä. Pakkasta oli vaihtelevasti 3:n ja 25:n asteen väillä. Osan viikkoa oli pilvetöntä ja taivaalla paistoi täysikuu. Tullessa jouduin heti lumitöihin, sillä lumien tulon jälkeen ei mökillä ollut kukaan käynyt. Lunta oli nelisenkymmentä senttimetriä. Kevyttä pakkaslunta oli helppo lapioida. Käytiin myös saunasta lumessa enkelin kuvat tekemässä.

Hiihdimme normaalit lenkit ja pakkasesta huolimatta luisto oli mainio. Sammaltunturilla käydessämme sää oli hyvin erikoinen. Osittain oli aivan kirkasta mutta tunturi oli kevyen pilven peitossa. Taivaan rannan alapuolella pysyttelevän auringon valo ja täysi kuu siivilöityivät usvaan aivan satumaisesti. Pääosin ilma oli eri asteista punaisen sekoitusta. Puut olivat jo vahvan tykkylumen peitossa. Erikoinen ja vahva luontoelämys!

Vaikka ilmaston muutos ilmeisesti vaikuttaa Etelä-Suomen säähän, ei vastaavaa vaikutusta minun seitsemän vuoden kokemuksien perusteella voi Lapissa havaita. Pakkasia tuntuu riittävän. Lunta on entiseen malliin paljon ja hiihtokelejä riittää vapun tienoille asti. Tuntuu siltä, ettei muutoksen mekanismeja läheskään tunneta. Siinä varmaan vaikuttavat monet eri suuntiin liikkuvat voimat.

Again what a finest week in Jeris. The frost changed between 3 and 25 minus degrees. Part of week was cloudless and in the sky shined full moon. In the cottage has no one been for long time. So at arrival I had immediately to do snow work. The snow was about forty centimetres. Light frost snow was easy shovel. After sauna we took in it snow baths.

We skied the normal tracks and despite from the frost the slide was excellent. On Sammaltunturi fell the weather was very special. Partly was quite bright but the mountain was in the cover of the light cloud. Sun does not rise any longer but the light of the below horizon remaining sun and full moon strained to the clouds quite fabulously. Mainly air was different red mixture. The trees had already strong snow in cover. Very special and strong nature experience!

Even though the climate change obviously affects southern Finland weather however on the basis of my seven year experiences it does not affect the same way in Lapland. There is always the same frost. Snow there are much to the former model and skiing conditions are excellent all the way to around May day. Seems so, that we do not know the mechanisms of the change. There surely works many powers to different directions.
