28.8 - 4.9. 2010 SYKSYN KYNNYKSELLÄ

Taas mainio viikko Jeriksellä. Lämmintäkin oli vielä hyvin, siinä viiden ja kymmenen asteen välillä. Satoi ja paistoi sopivasti vuorotellen. Loppuviikkoa kohden lämpötila viileni ja yöllä käytiin jo pakkasella. Ilma oli hyvin kirkas iltaan asti ja valo kuvaamiseen niin otollinen, että mökille palasin usein vasta iltahämärissä.

Ruska on mukavasti alullaan ja kehittyy varmaan todella kauniiksi parissa viikossa. Ainakaan kuivuudesta ei täällä ole kärsitty. Kosteikoissa on paljon vettä. Tutun Hanhiojankin ylitys metsäretkellä oli tavallista työläämpää.

Puolukat ovat jo näin varhain kypsiä, mutta niitä ei täällä ole paljoa kerättäväksi. Lintumaailma on näin loppukesästä aika vähäinen. Järvellä kuitenkin näkyi tuttuja vesilintuja, koskeloita, telkkiä, uiveloita ja haapanoita. Kaikki naaraita. Urokset ovat hommat hoitaneet ja poistuneet jo aiemmin etelän maille.

Joutsenia oli Muonion joen kokoontumispaikalla kolmisenkymmentä. Ei läheskään niin paljon, kuin monena syksynä. Joutsenet eivät ole varmaan lähdössä vielä moneen viikkoon.

Yritin taas pitkästä aikaa kalastella. Kävin Äkäsjoellakin hyvillä kalapaikoilla. Ei ole ihan helppo puron varsia kulkea. Ne ovat kivikkoisia ja pusikkoisia. Siima ja viehe tuntuvat menevän yhtenään ihan muualle kuin mihin niiden mennä pitäisi. Kun purolta vapa kädessä palasin, kysyi muuan vastaan tullut mies: "Tuliko muuta kuin kokemusta"? Siinäpä se lyhyesti. Kokemusta tuli. Joskus sitten toivottavasti kalojakin!

28th August - 4th September 2010, WAITING FOR AUTUMN

Again an excellent week in Jeris. It was still also warm well in it between five and ten degrees. It was raining and was shining conveniently alternately. Per end of the week the temperature cooled and at night it was gone already to the frost. The weather was very clear until the evening and the light for the photographing so favourable that to the cottage I returned often only in dusks.

The colourful autumn period is comfortably at its initial stage and will develop in a couple of weeks surely really beautiful. It has not been suffered at least from the dryness here. In the wetlands there is much water. During the forest trip had more arduous than usually crossing familiar Hanhioja brook also.

The lingonberries are mature already this early but much them do not exist here to be collected. The bird world was quite minor since the late summer this way. At the lake familiar water birds, mergansers, golden eyes, smews and European wigeons were seen, however. All females. The males have made their responsibly and gone away to the south already earlier.

There were swans on meeting place about thirty on the river of Muonio. One not nearly as much as in many autumns. The swans are not yet surely about to leave for many weeks.

I tried fishing after a long time. I went also to Äkäsjoki river to good fish places. It is not one of the banks of the brook quite easy, to go. They are stony and full of bushes. The line and the lure seem to be going quite continuously elsewhere than where they should go. When I returned from the brook, a man asked: "Did you got other than experience"? In it it is briefly. The experience I got a lot. Sometimes then hopefully fish also!
