26.3-1.4. 2011 - AURINKOINEN KEVTTALVEN VIIKKO

Koko viikko oli aurinkoinen ja hiihtokeli mitä mainioin. Päivällä pakkasta oli viiden asteen molemmin puolin. Tässä kelissä suksi luisti ja hiihto maistui.

Tyttäreni ja kolme lapsen lastani Pihla 11, Inka 10 ja Sini 8 tekivät meille seuraa. Lapset ovat pontevia hiihtäjiä. Vanhempien lasten kanssa päivämatkat olivat 10 - 20 kilometriä. Sinin kanssa tehtiin 3 - 4 kilometrin lenkkejä.

Lapsia viehättävät pitkät alamäet ja niitän riittää, kunhan vain jaksaa tuntureille nousta. Siinä ei tuntunut olevan mitään vaikeuksia. Kahdesti kiipesimme Sammaltunturille ja kerran Pallakselle Montellin majan kohdalta. Aurinkoisessa säässä näkymät puuttomassa tunturissa ovat huikaisevan komeat. Kolmen ja puolen kilometrin alamäessä taas saa kokoa vauhdin hurmaa pitkän aikaa.

Pihakuuseen ripustimme rasvapatukan linnun ruuaksi. Siinä kävi tiaisia ja kuukkeleita ahkerasti. Metsässä näimme käpylintuja ja pohjantikkoja useina päivinä. Pihakuusen alla vilisteli myös metsämyyrä kuukkeleiden pudottamia muruja pyydystämässä. Liekö myyräkannat kasvussa, kun en ole niitä ennen täällä havainnut?

26. March - 1. April, 2011 THE SUNNY MARCH WEEK

The whole week was sunny and lovely. It was a warm weather for skiing. During the day temperature was on both sides of five minus degrees. In this fine weather skiing tasted well.

My daughter and three grand children Pihla 11, Inka 10 and Sini 8 made us accompany. Children are vigorous cross-country skiers. With older we made day trips of 10 to 20 kilometres. With Sini the tours were 3 to 4 km.

Children liked long downward slopes and here there are those a lot as long as you have energy to climb to the fells. There it did not seem to have any difficulties. Twice we climbed to Sammaltunturi, and once to Pallas. In sunny weather the outlook in treeless mountains are dazzlingly handsome. In three and a half kilometres downhill again you get the speed thrill for a long time.

We hang bird food to the spruce before window. It gathered tints and Siberian jays. In the forest we saw the crossbills and three-toed woodpeckers in several days. An European mole scuttled catching crumbs from the snow which tints and jays dropped. Maybe vole strains growing, when I'm not noticed them here before?
