6. - 10.6. 2010 LAPIN YÖTTÖMÄSSÄ YÖSSÄ

Tähän aikaan vuodesta Jerikselläkin on valoisaa vuorokauden ympäri. Tämän totesimme jo saapuessa. Matka kun venähti aamuyön puolelle. Saatiin kuvia matalalta paistavasta auringosta.

Kävelin taas parin päivän aikana jalat kankeaksi. Ensin kolusin Keimiö- ja Sammaltunturien rinteet ja toisena päivä patikoin Pallakselta Jerikselle. Tunturissa pääsin ihailemaan kesään puhkeavien lehtipuiden hentoa vihreyttä. Metsässä taas oli mukava istuskella, kun kaikenlaiset alkukesän linnut viestivät kilvan toisilleen. Kuuluu monenlaista sirkutusta ja piiskuntaa. Äänekkäimpänä laulurastaan ja järripeipon kuuluva laulu, mutta suurin osa oli minulle ihan tuntemattomia ääniä. Kyllä lintujen kuuntelu keväisessä metsässä hyvästä viihdeohjelmasta käy. Näkö- saatikka kuvausetäisyydelle lintuja on kuitenkin vaikea päästä. Nella sen sijaan sai mukavia kuvia Kutunivan vakioasukkaista, mm. valkoviklosta.

Torassiepissä näimme jälleen käkiä. Yksi onneton oli takertunut kuivumassa olevaan verkkoon. Irrotin sen varovasti ja lentoon se lähti, mutta taisi olla aika huonokuntoinen jo.

Pallakselta Jerikselle ulottuvan patikkareitin pitkospuut ovat varsin huonossa kunnossa. Irtonaisia ja lahonneita. Ihmetystä herätti myös poroaitojen kohdalla, kun portit oli sidottu paksulla narulla ja monin solmuin kiinni. Miksi moinen, kun kyseessä on karttaan merkitty patikkareitti?

Täälläpäin retkeilijän kannattaa tutustua uuteen kirjaseen: "Pallas-Yllästunturin Retkeilyopas ja kartta", Joel Ahola, Karttakeskus.

Jatkoimme matkaa Norjaan Varangerin vuonolle. Matkalla yövyimme Kaamasessa Neljän Tuulen Tuvalla. Siellä on lintujen ruokintaa, jota kannattaa pysähtyä seuraamaan. Mm. taviokuurnat ovat vakiovieraita. Varanger kuvat-->>

6. - 10. June 2010 LAPPLAND´S LIGHT SUMMER NIGHTS

This time of year in Jeris will be light round the clock. We stated this already when arriving. Trip when it stretched to the small hours. We got pictures of the frying sun.

I again walked during a couple of days my feet stiff. First I rummaged the slopes of Keimiötunturi and Sammaltunturi and other day I hike from Pallas to Jeris. I admired in the fjeld the delicate greenness of the deciduous trees which will burst until the summer. It was also nice to sit about in the forest, when all kinds of birds of the early summer express to each other a race. Many kinds of chirping were heard. As the loudest, the song thrush's and the brambling's belonging song but largest part was quite unknown voices to me. Yes, the birds' listening in early summer forest goes from a good entertainment programme. It is however difficult to get to the sight or photographing distance to birds. Instead Nella got nice pictures from the regular inhabitants of Kutuniva, among others, from the common greenshank.

In Torassieppi we again saw cuckoos. The one unhappy one had stuck to the fish network which were put on drying. I loosened it carefully and for the flight it left but it seemed that it already was quite in bad condition.

The hiking route duckboards from Pallas to Jeris are in quite bad order. Loose and rotted. The wonder also woke by the reindeer fences when the gates had been bound with a thick cord and shut with many knots. Why such, when it is a hiking route marked to the map?

Is worthwhile for the hiker here to become acquainted with a new book: "Retkeilyopas of Pallas-Yllästunturi" and map by Joel Ahola and published by Karttakeskus.

We continued the trip to Norway to the Varanger fjord. On the way we stayed overnight in Neljän Tuulen Tupa in Kaamanen. There is the birds' feeding which it is worthwhile to stop to follow there. Among others, the pine grosbeaks are regular guests. Varanger fjord pictures-->>>
